What is it like to be a Transition Employment Coach?

As a Transition Employment Coach you will support our students to achieve their own personal employment goals and aspirations. You will be enabling and supporting our students through employment focused group sessions; provide 1-1 coaching sessions, which will include Information Advice and Guidance session; vocational profiling, motivational interviewing, job applications, over-coming barriers, interview practice and support. You will be in a variety of employment settings Job Coaching during the day with some flexibility for evening and weekends (if/when required). Strong employer engagement ability and excellent negotiating and communication skills required.

Skills we are looking for:

• Experience working with young people
• Ability to facilitate or co-facilitate group sessions
• An ability to work in a multi-agency environment.
• Problem solving and being creative with various options.
• Strong resilience and determination to find a vocational outcome.
• Ability to prioritise work in an environment that may have conflicting pressures and demands.
• Negotiating and sales aptitude with an ability to motivate others.
• Ability to understand and work within relevant legislation, particularly around disability and employment.
• Flexible working to cover weekends and evening if and when required.
• A driving license holder and the daily use of a car
• Excellent written skills in order to write professional reports and demonstrate good record keeping
