Further information

We are looking for a qualified social worker, with ideally at least two years of experience, to work within a busy and dynamic team based in the centre of Wokingham. Your role will include completing re-assessments of need under the Care Act for adults with a variety of disabilities and needs. A key part of our service is supporting our customers to use their Personal Budgets to achieve desired outcomes and improve the quality of their lives within an agreed Support Plan. Another aspect of this role is reviewing and monitoring how well these Support Plans are working.

You will be expected to work within our robust Safeguarding Procedures with the support of our Safeguarding Team in addition to supporting our Duty Team as required. You will also be responsible for managing your own caseload.
Optalis is a local authority trading company and as such we offer a unique non-statutory environment whilst retaining close links with Wokingham Borough Council. We are a friendly team and include other specialisms such as Sensory Needs and Occupational Therapy. We are committed to developing the skills of our workforce as an innovative team looking to meet the challenges of the future. We offer monthly supervision as part of this commitment as well as a comprehensive induction programme.

In addition to being committed to helping adults to improve the quality of their lives, you will need excellent IT skills, good written and verbal communication skills and a good telephone manner.

We welcome experienced social workers to apply that are registered with HCPC or an equivalent professional body.
