We are currently recruiting for Senior Practitioner Social Workers to our Hospital and Physical Disability and Older Persons Team. We are looking for experienced and highly motivated individuals. You will be joining a forward thinking, skilled and empowered team who are committed to providing high quality health and social care in people’s homes, acute hospitals and the community. As a senior member of the team you will promote independence and control. You will work closely with families and carers and play a vital role in the support to people from diverse backgrounds with a wide range of needs.

As a senior member of the team, you will have an influence on the future development of the service. You will take every opportunity to support and develop those around you. You’ll need to be a professionally qualified and a registered Social Worker with management skills and a proactive, person-centered approach to your work. You will need to have the skills and confidence to manage staff often in challenging situations as required and to gain knowledge of local policies and procedures and ability to implement as necessary. A substantial contemporary post-registration track record, including routine experience of complex casework, risk assessment and safeguarding is crucial. Knowledge of social care policy and legislation is essential, as is a background in working directly with people with challenging social care needs. The ability to get the best out of others and work collaboratively with partner agencies is equally important, and you must have outstanding assessment and leadership skills.
Successful applicants will be skilled at communicating and working with people with social care needs and with people with a variety of physical and cognitive impairments. You will need to have excellent communication skills and the ability to work professionally in a multidisciplinary / multi-agency context. You will need to have competent IT skills and be able and willing to learn to use a variety of software systems.
